Choir

At St. Theresa’s, cantors and choir members are volunteers who offer their gifts in service to the parish and participate in ongoing training and rehearsals.  

Is there a place for me or members of my family?  Yes, everyone has a place. We have a Children’s Choir for students grades 2-4; Choristers is for students grades 5-9.

Parish Choir is for high school age students and adults of all ages. Adults and children can train to be parish cantors.  

Singing and music have been central to our tradition and history. Most importantly, each and every worshiper is encouraged to engage in sung participation in the liturgy.

Children's Choir and Choristers

Does your child enjoy singing? Then consider the Children's Choir and Choristers here at Saint Theresa Parish. Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays in the Choir room of the Church.

Children's Choir is for students in grades 2 and 3, as well as for students in grade 4 who have never sung in the choir.

Choristers is for students in grades 4 through 6. (Please note that it is also for students who attend St. Theresa's Religious Education program (CCD) who are in lower grades and who are unable to attend Children's choir rehearsal.)

Both groups meet together from 2:30-3:45. Slight schedule changes may happen seasonally.

The choirs sing at the 9:00 Sunday Mass about once a month. Additional concerts and events are included, such as the Advent/ Christmas Concert and choir workshops.

INVITATION TO JOIN THE SAINT THERESA ADULT CHOIR

I would like to extend an invitation to all parishioners to consider speaking to me about joining the choir if you enjoy singing. I hope to bring new energy and enthusiasm to the group of dedicated singers we now have in the choir, and I hope to see really fun and wonderful things accomplished.  I am already planning our Advent/ Christmas Concert. I hope to make it a spectacular evening of great Advent and Christmas music but it can only happen with singers to sing the pieces!

HYMNAL SPONSOR SHEET

It is customary for Catholics to remember their beloved faithful departed in Masses and prayer. What better way to do this than by sponsoring a Hymnal! Your loved ones will be remembered in the prayers of all those who use these Hymnals at all the Masses celebrated at Saint Theresa of Avila Parish. Your loved one’s name will be placed on a plaque inside the front cover of the hymnal. Sponsorships are available at $20.00 per hymnal.  Please click on the donate button on the front page of the website and you can print out the Hymnal Sponsor form.  This form can be returned to the rectory along with your donation by mailing it, dropping it off, or you can even drop it in the collection basket at Mass.
